"A Child Called It"

  "In the years before I was abused, my family was the 'Brady Bunch' of the 1960's." Chapter 2, Good Times Pg. 17.  What really got me when reading this part of the book was how could a once loving mother become to hate her little boy so much.  It's not like he was an only child either, he had two other siblings but he was the one chosen as 'the family slave'. If I saw one of my sisters being treated in the horrible ways David was I would help them out.  It shocked me how no one bothered to help David, his siblings didn't acknowledge him and ignored him if he was in their presence.
